Spreading Harmony, Living Peace.
We must be willing to give in, to set aside our ego and pride, in order to live in peace. Peace starts within our own family. If we cannot have peace within our own family, how do we expect to live in peace with the rest of the world?
Peaceful mind, peaceful heart. Meditation is available to anyone of any religion. It is the doorway to beginning to live in peace. If you are rushing about every day, with not even 10 minutes time to calm yourself, to let your mind and heart settle, then how can you ever live peace?
Meditation can be as simple as sitting calmly, being aware of your breathing. Let the thoughts that come up in the mind, just wander off, like clouds floating by on a sunny day. Look at the thoughts, but do not get caught up in them. This is easier said, than done. Yet, as you meditate in this way, more and more, you will begin to realize that so much of our harried lives is so meaningless. Do we really need all that? Simplicity is the foundation of joy.
No matter what your faith is, what your religion is, everyone you meet and talk to, all want the same things, to live in peace, freedom, and happiness. Forgiveness is key in your journey to peace. If we don't forgive those who upset or intrude upon us, we will never have peace. People are people...they do things they don't realize sometimes. Meditation can help you to realize that sometimes the best thing to say is nothing, but to just listen.
I invite you to meditate today. tomorrow. next week. Just do it often and regularly, in a short amount of time, you will see and feel a difference. I guarantee it!
How do you live peace?
By thinking of how others will take what
you say or do before you say or do them. By forgiving those that hurt you, even if
it means swallowing your pride for a short time.
Being "right" doesn't make for
a happy home or community. Let the other person be right for
a change, and thereby allowing them to see that you value
their opinions and ideas.
Listening to others with an open heart,
and an open mind, rather than being quick to judge and/or
condemn. Celebrate other peoples cultures and faiths,
rather than trying to change everyone to think, belive, and
do as you do. A garden of all the same flowers is a mighty
boring garden. It is the variety of the cultures, faiths,
and people that make our world such a wonderful and interesting
And most importantly...have peace in YOUR
OWN HOME, WITH YOUR OWN FAMILY FIRST, THEN WITH THE COMMUNITY
and then with the world. You cannot work for world peace if
there is fighting in your own home. Do what it takes to create
peace in your home first, and that will begin to change you
in such a way that peace in the community will be much easier
